The number of efficient engines on the market is increasing every year. These innovative systems place challenging demands on petroleum manufacturers. Gas engines in particular are subject to extreme operating conditions and require advanced lubricants with excellent oxidation stability and low propensity for ash deposits. HDM has proven to meet the requirements of many gas engine owners.
Designed for extreme conditions
Modern gas engines operate under extreme conditions that accelerate the process of deposit formation in the oil, increasing the risk of ring seizure and valve seat retraction. The HDM series is designed to perform in these harsh environments. These premium oils can be used on all types of gases, including natural gas. The innovative "keep it clean" technology offers a range of advantages:
- Extended oil change intervals due to high oxidation resistance
- Low tendency to deposit dust, good resistance to early ignition
- Good acid neutralization capacity due to high
- TBN retention
- Excellent anti-wear properties against seat sinking, ring sticking, rust and corrosion
Extend oil change intervals
Many customers have experienced the benefits of extended drain intervals and low deposit tendency of the HDM Series.
A Dutch company that uses biogas to produce green electricity has replaced the oil in two of its Jenbacher JMS 316 stationary gas engines with HDM. This high ash stationary gas engine oil was developed for bio and landfill gas. It has been developed as a high TBN product with a low tendency to deposit. The company owner was delighted to see a 54% increase in his engine drain intervals. "Very happy with the results, virtually no deposits on piston crowns and cylinder heads," he declares.
"Keep Clean" Technology
Another customer uses an INNIO Jenbacher 612 F version with a steel piston to power the lights in his greenhouse. Heat is used to heat these places. We tested the performance of HDM. The result after 6.000 hours proves its superior technology. The ring grooves are still very clean with no deposits or signs of ring seizure. It once again confirms HDM's excellent "keep clean" technology.
